I am a Sydney-based artist working primarily in painting, with a focus on colour, landscape, and atmosphere. My work moves between abstraction and representation, I’m drawn to the everyday urban or rural – changing light, weather, roads, buildings — and to the way places carry feeling as well as form. In my abstract work I use layered colour to create movement and drama.
Before returning to painting, I spent over fifteen years working as a potter. That long engagement with clay continues to inform my approach to painting, particularly my attention to material, surface, form, and process.
Alongside my studio practice, I have a background in teaching and writing, which supports a reflective, process-driven way of working.
